We are a recovery housing program, not a treatment center or clinic. We provide a sober environment, structure, peer support and accountability. The resident does the work of recovery.

Admission is always a human decision. This site helps you reach us; it does not decide who is admitted.
Tell us who you are, which home you are interested in and how to reach you. A staff member calls you back.
Complete the application by phone or in person. It asks for contact information, an emergency contact, and basic recovery background. No medical history.
Staff conduct an intake interview to assess program fit. It is not a clinical assessment.
Possible outcomes include admission, conditional admission, waitlist or denial. Before move in, residents review the participant manual, complete a medication disclosure and sign the house agreement.
Treatment providers, hospitals, probation, parole, courts, HHS, case managers, peer support programs and community organizations can use a separate referral path.
We can receive a referral and the referring source's contact information. We do not share an applicant's record back with the referring party unless a valid release authorizes it. We do not accept a placement without speaking with the person who would be living here.

Our adopted participant manuals preserve resident rights, including emergency access, [prescribed medication including MAT, confirm wording against manual v2.3], grievance access, disability accommodation requests, nondiscrimination, written notice for serious decisions and dignity.
Participants may request a reasonable accommodation. Requests are reviewed through an interactive process and documented.
Participants may challenge inconsistent rules, rights violations, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, improper decisions or fee issues without retaliation for a good-faith grievance.
We publish our participant manuals so residents, families, referral partners and the public can see exactly what living here means. Read the manual for the home you are asking about before you apply.
Grievances go to the house manager first, then the Program Director, then the Board or its designee. Accreditation related complaints for accredited homes may also be directed to MCRSP.

Program fees cover part of what it costs to run a safe, structured home. Gifts cover the rest: move in support for residents who arrive with nothing, repairs, furnishings and peer coach time. Rewrite Your Story Recovery Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity; gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Checks may be made payable to Rewrite Your Story Recovery Foundation and mailed to [Foundation mailing address].
